Joffre, Alberta Nitrogen Plant

Constructed in the heart of winter in central Alberta, this plant uses a combination of mechanical and expansion refrigeration to isolate and liquefy nitrogen from the air.  Beginning as a green field, this plant was constructed in less than seven months.  Constructed of primarily of reconditioned materials, this plant still exceeded all requirements of the Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA).  The plant produces 250 tons per day of nitrogen for the energy industry at -320 degrees Fahrenheit.

QED acted as project manger and directed the efforts of all contractors on the site.
