Montego Bay, Jamaica Power Plant

This project involved shipping a Pratt and Whitney gas turbine generator from Chile to Montego Bay, Jamaica where the engine was removed for continued shipment to Connecticut.  One in Connecticut, the engine was rebuilt by P&W while the other components of the generator set were installed in Montego Bay.  Once the engine repairs were completed, it was returned to Jamaica and re-installed.  Total time from Chile to full operation was 69 days.  The plant produces 25 Mw of base-load power for the island of Jamaica.
